Dr Kurt E. Treu, Dr Rupesh K. Bhakta and Dr. Nutan Desai have over 60 years of combined experience. Our optometrists specialize in performing comprehensive eye examinations on patients of all ages, contact lens fittings of all complexities, and treatment and management of various eye diseases and conditions.
Kurt E. Treu, OD
Diplomate American Board Optometry
Dr. Kurt E Treu is a Board certified Optometrist and has practiced in Georgia for 37 years. In addition to family practice Optometry, Dr Treu has extensive experience in contact lenses, pre/post LASIK, cataract management, keratoconus, dry eye disease, glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive eye disease. He completed his undergraduate studies at Drew University being awarded the BA degree. He then earned his Doctorate and BS. from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA. His practice encompasses treatment and management of ocular disease and vision disorders. He is a current member of both the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.

Rupesh Bhakta, OD
Dr. Bhakta, a southeast Georgia native, completed his undergraduate studies at UGA in 2005. In 2009, Dr. Bhakta graduated, with honors, from the UAB School of Optometry in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon graduating, Dr. Bhakta completed a one-year residency program in refractive surgery and ocular disease at Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta, GA. The residency program allowed Dr. Bhakta to further strengthen his clinical skills in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular diseases, such as, dry eye syndrome, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, amongst other eye conditions. In addition, Dr. Bhakta received extensive training in pre-operative and post-operative care for cataract and LASIK patients. He joined Hamilton Mill Eye Care in 2010 and fell in love with the community. Dr. Bhakta enjoys the ability to build long-lasting relationships with his patients by providing a service that enhances their lives.
Dr. Bhakta is a current member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He resides in Johns Creek with his wife and three children. In his free time, Dr. Bhakta enjoys spending time with his family and friends, cheering on the Dawgs, and traveling. Dr. Bhakta is committed to providing professional eye care to the community in a caring and compassionate manner. |
Nutan Desai, OD
Diplomate, American Board of Optometry
Dr. Desai is a resident-trained optometrist and is licensed to practice in both Georgia and Florida. She has been practicing optometry since 2000 in the Atlanta area and specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease. She earned her BS degree at the University of Florida and received her Doctorate of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She completed her post-graduate training in ocular disease as a resident at Clayton Eye Center in Morrow, GA.
Dr. Desai received extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the cornea and retina. |
Dr. Desai is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. She is experienced with contact lens and specialty contact lens fitting (RGPs, multifocals/bifocals and keratoconus), pre- and post-operative LASIK and cataract surgeries, foreign body removals and family practice optometry.
She prides herself on developing a warm relationship with her patients and thoroughly evaluating their visual system to provide the best corrective lenses and/or diagnose abnormalities that may compromise their vision. Dr. Desai lives in Johns Creek with her husband, son and daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, watching movies and entertaining friends.
